adidas wants to end plastic waste; however, the biggest challenge in the hype fashion industry isn’t awareness - it’s motivation. So, we decided to force the consumer’s hand with a one-day-only, one-of-a-kind sustainable sportswear pop-up - the first to use out-of-use clothing and footwear as currency.

First, we partnered with seven climate conscious creators to build a capsule collection of sustainably-made collaborative goods through a variety of different environmentally-friendly design processes including upcycling, cut-&-sew, vintage curation, craftcore, and more. Each singular piece was then made available for purchase only at the pop-up, but not for dollars - instead, we asked that guests “buy” the items by trading in weights in old clothing and footwear from any brand (including our competitors!) so that we could recycle them responsibly on their behalf through our partnership with thredUP.

The collection sold out in under two hours, but more importantly, we were able to collect and repurpose over 2500 lbs of clothing waste!
